TREVOR COPPOCK

Trevor has been a professional photographer all his working life his career starting with eleven years as a press photographer with an evening broadsheet newspaper in Auckland, New Zealand. His interest in maritime matters began as a teenager following a five-week passage from the UK to New Zealand which included a transit of the Panama Canal. During his years with the newspaper he spent time at weekends crewing aboard the then Auckland-based sail training ship Spirit of Adventure, at the same time shooting publicity pictures for the Spirit of Adventure Trust.

Following his decision to leave the news media Trevor worked independently with clients from the PR, marketing and advertising sector but after some years decided it was time for a change of scene and moved to the UK. Trevor admits that he was very lucky in that his key marine client was Associated British Ports plc (ABP) and that association led to work with many of their port customers (P&O Nedlloyd, P&O Cruises UK, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Maersk Line, NYK Bulkship - Europe, Grimaldi Line etc. Now, Trevor continues to be a regular contributor to the UK's Ships Monthly, Warships IFR and IHSMarkit’s Seaweb. He is also a contributor of stories and pictures to New Zealand's Professional Skipper magazine and other local media.

TONY MILLATT

Tony went to sea as a Radio Officer with the New Zealand Shipping Company in the 1960s. He came ashore in 1966 and went into the computer industry - and in 2009 finally escaped. Boats have always been an interest and for 25 years he had his own canal boat, as well as being active on the steam narrowboat PRESIDENT. From 2000, he spent some time in Auckland, enjoying living on the waterfront, but has now returned to West Mersea in Essex, not far from where he was born.

Computers have not gone away and Tony maintains several websites, as well as being actively involved in Mersea Museum.
