Owned by Goundar Shipping of Fiji, the ferry sailed in from Suva for a 10-day program of routine maintenance expected to cost around US$1.5m. She was bought in 2016 from British Columbia Ferries of Canada for a reputed $3m Fiji dollars. The purchase is alleged to have caused outrage in Canada as the ship had undergone a $15m Canadian dollar refit just five years previously. She was renamed LOMAIVITI PRINCESS III by Fijian PM Frank Bainimarama on 19 January 2016.
