SeapixOnline- Charterboats - 46 of 173 KAWAU ISLE (Riverhead Ferry) - Built by Roy Lidgard in 1952 with the aid of a Govt subsidy to service Kawau, Tiritiri Matangi, and Hauturu (Little Barrier) Islands in the Hauraki Gulf. Not only was she constructed on Kawau Island but it is believed the timbers were sourced on the island also. KAWAU ISLE provides cruises for private parties/celebrations as well as cruises around the islands of the Hauraki Gulf.
