SeapixOnlineDisplaying 11 of 22 TED ASHBY (1993) is a replica of the scows which operated extensively around the coast of early New Zealand hauling timber and other bulk cargoes. These sturdy vessels were flat-bottomed allowing them easy passage on the shallow tidal rivers. TED ASHBY is part of the fleet of vessels operated today by the NZ National Maritime Museum in Auckland and here is seen outbound from her berth for an evening cruise on the Waitemata Harbour.
