SeapixOnlineDisplaying 7 of 8 NAHLIN (1930, ex-LUCEAFARUL, LIBERTATEA, NAHLIN) - The superyacht NAHLIN, last seen in New Zealand waters in 1930 the year of her completion for owner Lady Henrietta Yule, lays at anchor in Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. Following a very colourful career during which she has served as the Romanian Royal yacht, a floating restaurant and a museum, she is "best"(??) remembered as the yacht aboard which King Edward VIII and his mistress Mrs. Wallis Simpson entertained the heads of various Nazi-supporting nations during a cruise of Eastern Europe in 1936. Within months he had abdicated plunging Britain into a dire constitutional crisis. Following an almost complete restoration at the Blohm + Voss and Nobiskrug shipyards in Germany, she is owned today by Sir James Dyson, British inventor and industrialist.
