SeapixOnlineDisplaying 2 of 2 RICKMER RICKMERS (1896. Renamed MAX, FLORES, NRP SAGRES) a three masted barque built by Rickmers Shipyard in Bremerhaven is today a permanently moored museum ship in Hamburg.
Initially she sailed the Germany-Hong Kong route but later, after sale, she transferred to the Hamburg-Chile route. During WWI she was captured by the Portuguese and loaned to the UK. Following the war she reverted to sailing under the Portuguese flag as a training ship. After retirement in 1960 she was bought by German interests reverted to her original name and converted into the floating museum she is today.
