SeapixOnlineDisplaying 4 of 25 KESTREL (1909/342-grt) - at 123' (37.5m) she is the last seaworthy vintage Waitemata Harbour commuter ferry. In her heyday she operated between Auckland City, NZ and the North Shore suburb of Devonport. She was relocated to the NZ port of Tauranga in 2002 after having retired some years earlier. She made the 26-hour voyage under her own power. After some years in Tauranga she returned to Auckland where she is now undergoing restoration. She is seen here berthed adjacent to the superyacht berths in St. Mary's Bay with the 305.94' (93.25m) superyacht MAYAN QUEEN IV acting an a rather impressive backdrop.
