The 700TEU capacity vessel will be renamed SPIRIT OF ENDURANCE by her new operators Pacifica Shipping and will be the biggest container ship to sail on the New Zealand coastal service.
The ship is the first to come into service as part of the former Labour governments "Seachange" initiative to see 30% of all NZ freight moved by coastal shipping by the year 2030.
It is expected she will carry around 1000 containers each week between Auckland, Tauranga, Canterbury and Otago.
