SeapixOnlineDisplaying 138 of 11052 TOROA (1925/309grt) built by G. Niccol Ltd of Auckland, NZ, she was the last double-ended ferry built for North Shore Ferries for operation on the city's Waitemata Harbour. She was decommissioned in August 1980 after which she was laid-up at various berths, sinking in 1998. She was raised and is today under restoration at Te Atatu in West Auckland. She is seen here during the final months of her operational career, passing Sitmar Line's FAIRSTAR (1957/21619grt/IMO 5267732, ex- troopship OXFORDSHIRE. Renamed RIPA for the voyage to the demolition beaches) approaching the city ferry basin in Auckland.
