SeapixOnlineDisplaying 301 of 11102 USS SAMPSON (DDG102) an Arleigh-Burke class destroyer sails into Auckland, New Zealand in the company of four other ships including HMNZS TE KAHA (F77).
It's the first time in 31 years a US warship has been seen in AUckland since the 1985 nuclear free legislation was introduced.
It seems from this picture that the US and New Zealand have finally become good buddies again.
All five ships had spent a week helping out with the post earthquake clean up in Kaikoura. USS SAMPSON's visit was originally to see her participate in the RNZN's 75th Anniversary celebrations and fleet review.
