SeapixOnlineDisplaying 1050 of 11052 HOEGH TRACER (2016/76420grt/21983dwt/IMO 9684990) - the third Post Panamax vessel of Hoegh Autoliners six New Horizon-class pure car and truck carriers, sails into Auckland, New Zealand this morning, barely visible is the torrential rain.
Built in China, she has 71400sq.m of deck space and is capable of carrying up to 8500 cars/equivalent units.
Her cargo door and extra strength stern ramp allows cargo units of up to 375 tonnes, 6.5m in height and 12m width to be loaded while her side ramp can accommodate weights up to 22 tonnes.
She, along with her sister ships, will also be some of the most environmentally friendly vessels afloat when they are all commissioned by years end. Each will emit 50% less CO2 per cargo unit than the conventional car carriers in operation today.
The two first New Horizon vessels commissioned are Hoegh Trigger and Hoegh Target.
