TALITHA G (1929, ex:REVELER, CHALENA, CAROLA, USS BEAUMONT, ELPETAL, JEZEBEL) - owned by the late Sir John Paul Getty II, she is seen here at dawn berthed in Southampton, England. She is now owned by Getty's son Mark. Built in 1930 for Mr. Algar owner of the Packard Car Company, she was originally named Chalena after she was bought by E.F. McCann, the son-in-law of FW Woolworth. She was requisitioned for WWII gunboat service and sailed under the name USS Beaumont. Following a rebuild for Sir John Paul Getty II, she was given the name TALITHA-G, in honour of Getty's wife. On the far berth is the former Royal Navy fleet tanker RFA OLNA (A123, 1964/36027gt, renamed KOS prior to demolition at Alang) which was decommissioned in September 2000. August 1999. Photo by ©
