VIKING NEPTUNE (2022/47878gt/4465dwt/IMO 9845910 - Viking Ocean Cruises' recently named vessel arrived into Auckland today from Papeete, part of her inaugural 138-night world cruise.
The ship was officially named by astronaut and aquanaut Nicole Stott in Los Angeles on 8 January.
A smaller cruise ship than many of the giants we see these days, she can carry up to 930 passengers.
She is almost identical to others in the Viking fleet except for the fact that she utilises a small hydrogen fuel system for onboard operations. She is the first ship in the cruise industry to do so.
