PACIFIC PEARL (1989/63524grt/IMO 8611398, ex-OCEAN VILLAGE, ARCADIA, STAR PRINCESS, SITMAR FAIRMAJESTY. She will transfer to CMV and be renamed COLUMBUS in 2017) - fresh from a multi-million dollar refit in Singapore, sails from Auckland early this evening (22 Dec) on her inaugural cruise.

She was renamed in a glittering ceremony in Auckland last evening by Barbara Kendall MBE, NZ's multi-Olympic boardsailing medalist, the ship's godmother. Around 700 VIP guests attended the public naming ceremony.
